Коллекция: Loris Watching from Kitulgala

The Kitulgala Forest Reserve and the surrounding area that is nourished by the Kelani River and the monsoon rainfalls is home to many rare species of birds and mammals throughout the year. However, trekking with a naturalist within the thick forest canopy is ideal during December to April due to the favourable weather. The red slender loris is a very rare sight in Kitulgala since it's difficult to navigate in the nighttime. The forest reserve closes at 6.00 pm but if you are lucky enough, you might be able to witness these nocturnal mammals from your hotel or eco lodge as well.
