The distance from Colombo to Trincomalee is about 264 km by road while the drive is quite long yet memorable. If you want to save time, helitours / air charters are available which is also organized by the Air Force from the Ratmalana Airport to Trincomalee. Semi luxury night trains are available to Trincomalee from Colombo with first class berths available.
